When you are expecting it can be hard to decide what to wear everyday let alone an event. As a Montgomery maternity photographer and a mother of six I have seen my fair share of maternity outfits and have a few tricks to styling that bump for an event.

There is nothing more elegant than a maternity gown that incorporates beautiful details and textures such as neutral colors, soft tones, and organic textures. Think cotton, linen, muslin…these are all incredible options to outfit your beautiful growing bump. Try looking at places that are not maternity specific, you can find a lot of options that will work with your pregnancy. My very favorite maternity jeans were not maternity at all. They were just really stretchy and came from Forever 21!

The gown above is from the studio wardrobe and came from Free People. I especially love the beaded details and the unique empire waist and gathered skirt. Definitely try to find something that is full length. You will be more comfortable but I also feel like a longer length gown elevates the style.
