The Secret Prep Behind Every Session

It begins with a consultation call where I really get to know you and your vision. As your session approaches, you can be confident that the studio is cleaned and sanitized fully. My husband owns The Cleaning Authority-East Omaha, so our standards of clean are very high! You can expect a perfect studio temperature to allow everyone to be happy (no sweating post-partum mamas and the most snuggly happy babies). As a studio lifestyle session Omaha professional, I make sure every detail is set for maximum comfort and safety.

In 2022, I photographed a set of twin babies that had spent weeks in the NICU. They were a mere 4 pounds each, and their mama was extremely grateful for every detail that went into ensuring the studio was clean and ready for their delicate little immune systems.

Baby Whispering Magic

A lot goes into learning how to handle newborns to ensure a seamless session. Part of the magic really is going with the flow and letting them lead the way. Part of my process is taking on an extremely limited number of sessions so I have the freedom to schedule yours when your baby is most rested. You’re not going to be kicked out of the studio when my next client comes around! We have the freedom to get exactly what we need without time constraints. I also use a method called “baby-led posing,” which is such a beautiful way to bring out the natural beauty of those newborn days. We aren’t shoving your sweet baby into buckets and definitely not trying to create awkward poses like a frog. After all… you gave birth to a human, not a frog.

I had a baby that was so very interested in everything around. She fought sleep like a champ. So we leaned in. And these have become some of the most cherished images in this mama’s collection of memories.

The Unexpected Moments

There really are no unexpected moments, to be honest. I’ve seen it all and am extremely well-versed in flexibility and going with the flow. This is part of the magic of creating unique pieces of art. Every baby is different. Every family is different. And isn’t that the beauty of you, after all?

When things are feeling “wrong” (like baby won’t sleep), these become some of the most cherished memories because they tell a story.
